Today is the 6th annual World Autism Awareness Day!
To show my support of Autism Awareness, I have created this Angel Bear. Free for you. Autism Awareness is observed the entire month of April. Feel free to download and share on your blogs, fb, wherever you would like. It includes this bear with and without words.
To learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorders, please visit CDC.gov
They will inform you on types of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) , signs and symptoms, diagnosis, treatment AND causes and risk factors.
These following links are resources for Teachers and Administrators:
This site provides detailed information for communication, social skills, behavior support, curriculum support, visual supports, inclusion, data sheets, thematic units, and so much more. This is the one to go to for many areas of support.
Here is one more.
Need to explain Autism to your students or kids at home? Here is a good article written by KidsHealth. It has an AUDIO option, so that students may listen to it as it highlights the words.
This is beautiful. I will proudly display this on my sidebar.
Thank you.
Thank you! I love it and will definitely use it!
I have a three year old son that has a PDD-NOS diagnosis. I have been constantly fighting with my special needs preschool to get him the services he deserves. I hope that educators take today and this month to learn about all the signs and spectrum disorders. I have learned so much from my journey with my son ( we started at 18 months old) and I have used my knowledge in my first grade classroom. Thank you for taking this day to spotlight autism!
